The Division of Social Sciences at New York University (NYU) in Abu Dhabi is seeking visiting professors to train the next generation of global leaders.
You are invited to apply for a visiting professor position in a new undergraduate program, a bachelor’s degree in business, organizations and society. The program is interdisciplinary and focuses on the role and impact of business within society. Established on liberal arts principles, the program integrates business theory and application, and prepares students to take on roles in business and to effectively and comprehensively examine the implications of business decisions for society from multiple perspectives. (i.e. social, political, economic and cultural).
The program seeks candidates whose research and teaching is rooted in management, entrepreneurship, business analysis, social impact, or a related field. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional experience for their career stage, both in research and teaching. There are many opportunities for collaboration within NYUAD, which is already home to a number of interdisciplinary research centers and laboratories, including the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID), the Center for Interacting Urban Networks (CITIES) and the Social Science Experimental Lab (SSEL).
The visiting position is generally for one academic year and the expected teaching load is four courses. Classes are relatively small and generally have no more than 24 students. Applicants must be excellent undergraduate course teachers. Although the following list is not exhaustive, the planned courses / subjects include: corporate social responsibility, social enterprises; Leading for social impact; Business law, diversity and inclusion in organizations; Design thinking; Managerial negotiations; Strategy; Operations management; Business analysis; Finance; Management and Organization; Business and Technology; Business ethics; and entrepreneurship.

This position requires a doctorate. in management, sociology, psychology, social psychology, economics or a related field, and a specialization in management, organizations or a related field. We are looking for individuals who have a strong background in teaching, mentoring and scholarship, and who have the ability to develop and lead high quality teaching and research with particular attention to businesses, organizations and to the society.
