Space in Africa organizes its first event, the NewSpace Africa Conference 2022, April 25-27, 2022, at Villa Rosa Kempinski in Nairobi, Kenya. The 3-day conference on the theme “Make Africa the new hotspot for space businesswill feature selected keynotes, interactive sessions, panel discussions, business presentations, B2B matchmaking, B2C matchmaking and unique networking opportunities.
The high-level event will bring together over 100 delegates from 29 countries across four continents, including heads of African space agencies and industry leaders, representatives of major commercial space companies, investors and other stakeholders keys to the African space and satellite industry.
The event will begin with a welcoming address by the Honorable Eugene. L Wamalwa, Cabinet Secretary for Defence, Government of Kenya and Colonel Hillary Biwott Kipkosgey, DG/CEO Kenya Space Agency. Doctor Tidiane OuttarraSpace Science Expert, African Union Commission (AUC) and Program Coordinator, GMES & Africa; Dr. Val MunsamiChancellor of the International Space University and former CEO of the South African National Space Agency (SANSA); Dr Ayman AhmedHead of the Space Imaging Division and Board Member of the Egyptian Space Agency; Dr Pierre MartinezExecutive Director, Secure World Foundation, will deliver keynote speeches at the inaugural edition of the NewSpace Africa Conference 2022. Their presentations will provide macro context for this year’s theme, and how to better align the space industry with African business realities and access untapped opportunities in the African space industry.
Notably, the high-level gathering will include selected keynote speeches and a panel discussion of 60 industry experts it will be dissect recent events, interpret emerging trends and assess new opportunities in the African space industry. Additionally, there will be plenty of networking opportunities and a startup launch contest.
Furthermore, the event will provide a platform to establish and maintain new relationships with African players in the space and satellite industry. The conference focuses on building new partnerships and business collaborations to advance the economics of the industry. The 3-day event will also provide a platform for leaders from government, industry, academia and investors to make new connections and business relationships to move the industry forward.
