SAI international students to participate in a global conference in the UK


Bhubaneswar: After a two-year break, SAI International is back with its Global Immersion Program (GIP) for its students. Two groups of students left for the UK. The first group departed on Sunday September 18 to attend the Round Square International Conference September 19-25, 2022 in Oxford. Another group of 40 students left for the UK from September 19-30 from SAI International School and SAI International Residential School with four co-ordinating teachers.

SAI International School is one of 56 schools in South Asia and the Gulf region present along with 172 other schools from around the world. Delegates will spend three days at Oxford University and stay at St Anne’s College and then at Latymer Upper School in London.

In London, they will join the British group of the Global Immersion Program (GIP) made up of 44 other students and teachers. During the conference, they will hear keynote addresses from renowned personalities such as Ben Fogle, award-winning broadcaster and adventurer, Emily Penn, ocean advocate, skipper and artist, Sir Dieter Helm, professor of economic policy at the University of Oxford and Fellow in Economics at New College, Oxford and many others.

They will also participate in baraza breakout sessions with delegates from around the world. SAI International students are thrilled to not only represent SAI International School at such an important event. GIP students will explore the UK in 10 days and visit King’s College Cambridge. The GIP was created by the late Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, Founding President of SAI International. He has always dreamed of building responsible global citizens of tomorrow who identify with emerging cross-border communities and whose commendable actions contribute to building a better world in which to live. Through the GIPs, he promoted internationalism and leadership skills, adaptability and communication with social networks. and interpersonal skills in children.

It is interesting to see how our children are adapting to the new culture and participating in various seminars and conferences on an international stage.
