Registration is now open to attend the US Meat Export Federation’s annual spring conference, May 25-27, at the Hyatt Regency in San Antonio, TX.

Wednesday’s opening general session will feature Peter Zeihan – geopolitical analyst, author and speaker – who will combine his expert understanding of demographics, economics, energy, politics, technology and security to help participants prepare for an uncertain future.

Thursday’s general session will focus on the current state of agricultural trade relations between the United States and China. Longtime Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, who recently served as U.S. Ambassador to China, will join Joel Haggard, USMEF Senior Vice President for Asia-Pacific, to review gains significant achievements made in phase one of the U.S.-China economic and trade agreement and discuss ongoing efforts to secure growth opportunities in the world’s largest meat import market.

During Friday’s closing session, attendees will hear about the creative programs USMEF has designed in emerging markets to not only increase US red meat exports, but also expand the range of US red meat cuts available. in wet markets and butcher shops.

In addition to the general sessions, workshops on beef, pork, exporters, and feed grains and oilseeds will offer in-depth discussions on topics relevant to each sector. Registrants are welcome and encouraged to attend all workshops, regardless of membership sector.
