Emirates News Agency – Emirates concludes Trade Operations Management Conference

DUBAI, 24th September, 2022 (WAM) — Emirates has concluded its two-day Business Operations Management Conference attended by over 300 local and global executives and senior airline executives.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, visited the conference and attended several sessions.

The conference, held in Dubai under the theme “Beyond Better, Forward Together”, featured sessions on the airline’s journey that defined its strong strategy around the fleet, destinations, products and expected growth.

Guest speakers exchanged their views on aviation, tourism and the economy. Speakers included Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism; Arjun Vir Singh, partner in Arthur D. Little’s financial services practice; and Nawal K. Taneja, aviation consultant and author.

Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, said: “We are once again firmly on the path to a massive growth trajectory in the travel industry. This conference has been one of our biggest platforms to rally our leaders and senior executives, who are also part of the Emirates and the biggest advocates of the Dubai brand in the world. They have now witnessed first-hand the many exciting initiatives the airline and the city have rolled out over the past two years, thanks to the visionary leadership of the UAE. »

The Conference also witnessed keynote addresses from aviation officials, as well as presentations, videos, fireside chats, workshops and panels.

Other Emirates speakers included Sir Tim Clark, Chairman of Emirates Airline; Michael Doersam, Group Chief Financial Officer; Boutros Boutros, Divisional Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, Marketing and Branding; Anand Lakshminarayanan, Senior Vice President, Revenue Optimization and Distribution; Trevor Chong, Vice President, Route Planning and Economics; and Rogerio Leao, Vice President, Fleet Planning and Research.

A dinner banquet was hosted for participants on the first day of the conference at the Museum of the Future, Dubai’s newest landmark and strategic partner of Emirates Airlines.

Over the past three months, Emirates has launched its highly anticipated “Premium Economy” with positive feedback; signed a historic commercial agreement with United Airlines; invested more than US$2 billion in its onboard customer experience, including new menus, vegan choices, in-the-sky cinema experiences and upgrades to its entire fleet of 120 Airbus A380s and Boeing 777.

The airline also committed US$350 million for next-generation in-flight entertainment solutions for its fleet of 50 A350s and kicked off its new advertising campaign with the creation of its new CGI brand ambassador – Gerry the Goose.
