Emirates Health Economics Society to host first conference

DUBAI — The Emirates Health Economics Society (EHES) will host its first healthcare industry conference since its founding in July 2020. Under the theme “Financing the Future of Sustainable Innovation”, the hybrid format conference will feature held from November 28th to 30th. 2021, at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai, and will uniquely focus on the intersection of scientific innovation and economics and the implications of both for the healthcare system in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

A wide range of workshops and plenary sessions will feature expert speakers including economists, health scientists, insurance professionals and healthcare providers. Sessions over the three-day period will include presentations and panel discussions on a range of topics, including: the role of the economy in shaping health policies, the evolution of insurance and the sustainability innovation in payer models.

Founded in July 2020, under the aegis of the Emirates Medical Association (EMA), the mission of the EHES is to stimulate innovation, research and interdisciplinary collaboration through the promotion of education and science. In addition, the conference will serve as a forum to share the most advanced thinking and the latest information on health economics in the United Arab Emirates for the benefit of all industry players and regulators.

“Financing the Future of Sustainable Innovation” is organized in partnership with Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers in the Gulf (PHRMAG), the industrial group that represents the main innovative biopharmaceutical research companies in the region.

During the conference, PHRMAG’s Healthcare Financing and Insurance Working Group will organize two workshops to address current and anticipated challenges, and to explore potential initiatives with stakeholders and healthcare partners. to further stimulate a patient-centered, equitable and sustainable healthcare. system that creates value for patients and society.
